We recently got a shipment of Outcast boats in stock for all of your stillwater and river fishing needs! With the higher water we’ve had this spring, a lot of folks have been lake fishing around the Black Hills, as well as for warmwater species around western South Dakota as well. The Outcast boats we got in are a great, inexpensive way to get out on the water where the fish are!

We often forget how good the lake fishing is around the Hills with the abundance of trout streams we have. There are a ton of small lakes that are...

Winter has been here for the past few days, but it looks like the weather will be a little more favorable for getting out on the water later this week and this weekend. Despite the cold and damp weather, the fishing has continued to be excellent just about everywhere. Get out before winter actually comes!

Rapid Creek above Pactola is fishing well, with more or less the same stuff as we’ve been doing well with over the past few weeks. If you’re in the deeper holes, nymph rigs with slightly smaller droppers have been working well. Make sure you’re close to...

With the lower flows, longer nights, and cooler temps, we’ve been starting to see quite a few Blue Winged Olives hatching over the past few weeks, and the fish have been up on them pretty consistently. This is some of the best dry fly fishing we see all year, and it brings some nice fish up to feed on the surface for several hours each day. The hatch will continue through mid-October typically, and lasts the majority of the afternoon. If you like semi-technical dry fly fishing, the next month and a half will be your time of year! Here’s a...

Flows are up and the fishing is great! We got a good dose of much needed moisture last week, and it spiked the flows a bit on most of our local creeks and streams. The dirty water has passed for the most part, and now we’re sitting pretty good. Don’t let the higher water scare you off, the fish still have to eat!

Rapid Creek above Pactola is the one place that’s still pretty dirty. You could catch some fish, but it won’t be particularly easy. If you’re up there, try smaller streamers like Kreelexes and Lil Kims, or big nymphs...
