Tied by Hans Stephenson of Dakota Angler & Outfitter. An all purpose nymph for tailing carp. To be fished along the bottom. This fly works extremely well and is fairly quick to tie. Hans’s Carp Nymph works great for smallmouth bass and panfish too.
As far as carp flies go, this pattern is very durable. If tied correctly it should last for several fish. The rubber legs are the least durable part of this fly. I like the movement imparted by sili legs; a more durable alternative is spanflex.
