It’s been quite some time since our last fishing report, and we apologize for that. The weather hasn’t been very conducive to fly fishing to say the least, with the last week hovering around zero for the majority of the days. This week is looking to be a heck of a lot better, with highs nearing 40 most days. This is going to create some great fishing, namely through town on Rapid Creek and on Spearfish Creek in town as well. Most of the creeks that are higher elevation are pretty iced up. This is going to be the week to...

Normally we’ve had a fair amount of snow by this point in the fall, but so far it’s been darn warm and dry. While we are always happy for any kind of moisture, the warmer conditions have made for some incredible fishing!

Hans has been out a couple times in the last few days, and has found the fish to be acting a little strange. Rapid Creek below Pactola is fishing well, with the majority of the fish being caught on nymphs. The most fish are being caught in the deeper holes and riffles, and the fish have been pretty willing. Fish a bigger scud or...

We’ve had some unseasonably warm weather for late September over the last week, and the fish have seemed to dig it. Highs in the high 70s and low 80s have made for some good terrestrial fishing, as well as bringing out some pretty good BWO and midge hatches. As always nymphing has been a solid bet nearly everywhere, and we’re getting into the time of year where streamer fishing can start to get fantastic and you can move some really big fish!

Rapid Creek above Pactola has been fishing well, with nymphing being the primary technique right now. Larger attractor type...
