Fishing throughout the Black Hills continues to be great, and the streams are all pretty vacant for the most part. This time of year offers some of our favorite fishing, and is generally pretty productive regardless of what method you choose to fish. The dry fly fishing has started to get good as well, with a midges hatching on most streams and Blue Winged Olives starting to get fired up. A lot of the smaller streams are starting to open up as well, and the fishing just about everywhere has been great!

It’s finally been above freezing for the last few days, and the fishing has been fantastic! The warmer weather has brought quite a few fish to the surface most days, and the nymphing has been great if they’re not on the surface. The weather over the next few days looks to be in the high twenties to low thirties, which is a heck of a lot better than it has been for the past month!

Normally we’ve had a fair amount of snow by this point in the fall, but so far it’s been darn warm and dry. While we are always happy for any kind of moisture, the warmer conditions have made for some incredible fishing!

Hans has been out a couple times in the last few days, and has found the fish to be acting a little strange.
